Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allahi wa Barakatuh
On behalf of Al-Birr staff I have the pleasure to welcome you to our school website. In light of the prophet's statement "whenever you perform any action, you should perform it perfectly and accomplish it in the best of form". The school's aims are to promote ethical and academic excellence in a caring andsecure Islamic environment, offer quality education academically and islamically and endorse excellent manners and positive integration with the society.
By providing a well structured, balanced and engaging curriculum, and by endorsing excellent manners through our Behaviour Policy and Rewarding System, we aim to encourage in all children the love of learning as well as the respect and care for one another.
"We write further to an online article by your newspaper set out above published on the 31st of August 2014 (and continuing) online by Leon Watson. For all intents and purposes Mr Watson held himself out as being a representative of your newspaper.
In that article you made a number of false and damaging statements which are as follows:
“Until February 2013, the Sunni director was a director of the independent Al-Birr school in Birmingham, which was founded in seven years ago”
"The curriculum is broad and carefully planned"
"Pupils are happy, and are increasingly self-assured and established in the daily routine,
which gives them new experiences that cover all seven of the EYFS areas of learning."
"The teaching is good and occasionally outstanding"
"The pupils’ behaviour is generally very good and is effectively promoted"
